What does this brand notification without a German branch cover?
Without a branch in Germany, your WEEE registration runs through an authorised representative under § 8 ElektroG.
A new brand has to be added there – otherwise the existing entry does not cover it.
This service covers one brand notification: 69 € net, the same price as with a branch.

Power of attorney, registration, brand – what depends on what?
- The power of attorney applies to your company. It is signed once, not per brand.
- The registration applies per brand and equipment category. Each combination is its own entry.
- The entry runs in our name. We take on the producer obligations for that brand.
- That is why we check before filing. We answer for every brand we report.
A new brand therefore needs no new signature, but it does need its own notification.
Where does your brand become publicly visible?
The producer register of stiftung ear can be searched by anyone.
- Marketplaces match the registration number and brand against the register.
- German dealers look you up before they take your devices into their range.
- Competitors see the same – missing brands show up there first.
- Your entry names us as the authorised representative, not your foreign company.
If the new brand is missing from the register, each of those checks comes up empty.
What happens without the notification?
- Selling is prohibited for as long as the brand is not in the register.
- Up to EUR 100,000 in fines is what the ElektroG provides per infringement.
- Revenue can be confiscated – retrospectively, for the entire period.
- Your German dealer is liable too and often will not take the goods at all.
- Competitors send warning letters; legal and court costs come on top.
- Queries land with us – as the authorised representative we are in the register.

We provide the guarantee under § 7 ElektroG per equipment category, not per brand.
If the equipment category stays the same, no additional guarantee arises for the new brand.
How does it work and what deadlines apply?
- Booking. One item per brand – two brands, twice in the cart.
- Details. Brand name, equipment category concerned, rating plate and model range.
- Check. We verify whether the equipment category already runs under our appointment.
- Filing within 3 working days once your details are complete.
- Registration by stiftung ear, in our experience within 6–8 weeks.
- During the year. The brand runs along in the volume report and the guarantee.
The registration must be in place before the first offer – not just before the first delivery.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to sign a new power of attorney for every new brand?
No. The appointment under § 8 ElektroG applies to your company, not to single brands.
It remains in place for as long as we act for you.
Only the registration itself is added per brand and equipment category.
Under whose name does the brand appear in the ear register?
Under ours – as your authorised representative. Your brand is still named there.
Marketplaces search for the brand, not for your company name.
That is precisely why every new brand has to appear there.
Why does the variant with a German branch cost the same?
Because the effort per notification is identical: 69 €.
What differs is who carries the producer obligations.
With a branch that is you; without a branch we take them on.
Book according to your company structure, not according to the price.
I also sell the brand in other EU countries. Is the German notification enough?
No – every country runs its own register.
The German registration takes effect in Germany only.
For the other markets: Amazon EPR-mandatory countries.
Does the new brand need its own guarantee under § 7 ElektroG?
No, as long as the equipment category stays the same. The guarantee attaches to the category.
If a category is added, you need the equipment category notification (99 €).
May I list the brand while the registration is running?
No. The ElektroG already prohibits offering without registration.
Marketplaces block such listings anyway when they check the number.
Put the listing online only once the number is there.
