Which package do I need for Ireland?
Packaging: a separate package for 1,200 € if your annual turnover is below 1 million € and you place less than 10 t of packaging on the Irish market per year. Electrical equipment and batteries are priced by turnover, as a single package or as a combined package: 480 to 1,900 € depending on the turnover band, the combined package for both from 600 €. If you ship a device with a battery in a cardboard box, you need the packaging package plus the combined electrical equipment + batteries package. All prices are net per calendar year.
Why is the price in Ireland based on annual turnover?
For electrical equipment and batteries, Ireland measures producer responsibility by turnover rather than by the volume placed on the market – unlike every other country in this overview. There are five bands: under 150,000 € the package costs 480 €, up to 250,000 € it is 600 €, up to 500,000 € it is 700 €, up to 1 million € it is 1,100 € and up to 10 million € it is 1,900 €. Because the banding depends on turnover, we need a reliable turnover figure before registration.
What applies if my annual turnover exceeds 10 million €?
Then none of the five bands applies and we prepare an individual quote for you. Please contact us directly for that. The same applies if you want the combined package but your turnover is above 150,000 €.
When is the Irish combined package worth it?
With an annual turnover under 150,000 € and both waste streams: 600 € instead of 480 € twice – you save 360 €. The most common case is a device with a built-in battery, because you are then placing both an electrical device and a battery on the market. If you need only one stream, the turnover-based single package is the right one.
How often do I have to report in Ireland?
Monthly for electrical equipment and batteries. Alongside Sweden, Ireland therefore has the highest ongoing reporting frequency. We keep the deadlines, you supply only the volumes.
What is included in the Irish packaging package?
For 1,200 € net per calendar year: the authorised representative service, the registration, the reports and the basic recycling administration fee. Authority fees and statutory VAT come on top. Registration typically takes 4 to 5 weeks.
