Sweden requires a separate registration for electrical equipment, batteries and packaging. Producers selling directly to end users in Sweden by distance contract and established in another member state or a third country must appoint an authorised representative to fulfil their EPR obligations – regardless of whether the end users are private households. That role is performed by our group company Ecopv-sweden AB, based in Åkersberga near Stockholm.

Since 12 August 2026 Amazon has been verifying packaging registration in every EU country in which you sell or store. In Sweden, listings without a valid registration number are deactivated without warning.

Which package do I need for Sweden?
One package per waste stream – there is no combined package for Sweden. Electrical equipment costs 450 €, portable batteries 2,000 €, packaging 450 € or 600 € depending on your annual volume, in each case net per calendar year. If you ship a device with a battery in a cardboard box, you need all three.
Why does the Swedish battery package cost 2,000 €?
Because the annual fee of the Swedish producer responsibility organisation (PRO) is included in the price and Swedish battery fees are well above the European average. The amount is not a surcharge on our service but reflects the Swedish PRO price level. Also included are the authorised representative, the registration, the monthly reports and 500 SEK of base recycling for the whole year.
Which price tier applies to packaging – under or over one tonne?
What counts is the total weight of all packaging you ship to Sweden in a year: under 1 t the package costs 450 €, above that 600 €. Add up boxes, filling material, films and labels – not just the product packaging. If you are close to the threshold, talk to us beforehand.

Yes, if you are a producer selling directly to end users in Sweden by distance contract and established in another member state or a third country – you then need to appoint an authorised representative for extended producer responsibility. This applies regardless of whether the end users are private households. In our Swedish packages the authorised representative is included in every case.
What does a subsequent notification or deregistration cost in Sweden?
30 € per procedure. That applies to an additional brand, an additional device or battery category, and equally to deregistering a registration.
