Guarantee Package – Small Photovoltaic Modules

Insolvency-proof guarantee for small photovoltaic modules.

stiftung ear classifies modules whose external dimensions are all 50 cm or less as small photovoltaic modules – for instance compact modules for mobile applications, camping, garden equipment or sensor technology.

Larger modules for rooftop installations belong to the "large photovoltaic modules" device category instead and need a guarantee of their own. If you sell both sizes, you report them separately.

The insolvency-proof guarantee under § 7 ElektroG is required for modules that can also be used in private households – to be proven at registration and in every calendar year.

More than 10 t per device category: send us your planned volumes and we will calculate individually.

With small modules the classification is often disputed because producers sell them as a set together with an inverter or a storage unit. What counts is always the individual device: the module counts as a photovoltaic module, the inverter separately as small or large equipment. If in doubt, we clarify the classification with you before registration.
