Guarantee Package – Small IT and Telecommunications Equipment (ITK)

Insolvency-proof guarantee for small IT and telecommunications equipment – proof within 24 hours.

This device category covers equipment up to 50 cm in external dimensions whose purpose is collecting, transmitting, processing, storing or displaying information, along with equipment for electronic transmission: smartphones, routers, keyboards, external hard drives, calculators, telephones.

Telling it apart from neighbouring categories often goes wrong: a notebook belongs to screens because of its display, a printer over 50 cm belongs to large equipment. Only what meets neither condition belongs to small IT.

For equipment that can also be used privately, § 7 ElektroG requires an insolvency-proof guarantee – at registration and then in every calendar year.

Planned volumes above 10 t per device category are calculated individually.

Experience shows that a lot of accessories end up in this category: chargers, headsets, dongles. They count as soon as they are placed on the market in their own right – but not when they are part of an appliance that has already been reported.
