Declaration of Completeness by a Registered Auditor (§ 10 VerpackDG)

Companies with high packaging volumes are required under § 10 VerpackDG to submit an audited declaration of completeness for the previous year by May 15 every year. An auditor registered with the Central Agency Packaging Register (ZSVR) must carry out the audit. Should the submission deadline fall on a weekend or a public holiday, it is postponed to the next working day, and an extension of the deadline is not allowed.

The limit values for a test are set out below:

• ≥ 80,000 kg glass and/or
• ≥ 50,000 kg paper/paperboard/cardboard and/or
• ≥ 30,000 kg of lightweight packaging (sum of packaging made of ferrous metals, aluminum, plastic, beverage cartons or other composite packaging)

The service includes the audit confirmation and the audit report of the appointed auditor*.

Under § 66 (1) no. 6 in conjunction with § 66 (3) VerpackDG, failing to deposit the declaration of completeness — or depositing it incorrectly, incompletely, in the wrong form or late — can be fined up to €100,000 per case.

* Travel costs incurred by the auditor are exclusive and can be invoiced separately according to time and effort.
