Portable Battery Service Package with Authorised Representative – No Branch in Germany (2026)

The Battery Law Implementation Act (BattDG) governs the placing on the market, take-back and environmentally sound disposal of batteries and accumulators. Under the EU Battery Regulation, battery manufacturers without a branch in Germany have had to appoint an authorised representative in Germany since 18 August 2025.

Manufacturers without a branch in Germany are legally required to

• appoint an authorised representative established in Germany,
• join a producer responsibility organisation (OfH) that collects waste batteries on the manufacturer's behalf and disposes of them properly,
• report all quantities placed on the market,
• inform end users about the correct disposal of batteries, and
• ensure that all batteries are labelled in accordance with the law.

We support you in meeting all of these obligations.

Our service package includes:

• Registration of the contracting party
• Assumption of the obligations as authorised representative under the EU Battery Regulation
• Affiliation with a producer responsibility organisation (OfH)
• Nationwide collection and proper recycling of waste portable batteries
• Assistance with information and notification obligations
• Preparation of all documents required for official review and their submission to the German Environment Agency

Scope and terms

The BattDG service package applies to customers placing no more than 1 t of portable batteries and 250,000 button cells per calendar year, and one brand, on the market. The included basic recycling contribution of €20 covers up to 30 kg of that; quantities beyond this are billed according to actual volume.
